Freek van Keulen

Freek van Keulen is an experienced IT professional with a passion for solving complex analytical problems, a journey that began in 1987 as a Cobol programmer. Over the course of more than three decades, he has evolved into a seasoned software developer, architect, and educator, embracing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. Freek’s expertise spans a wide range of programming languages, including Java, Python, Rust, and C++, as well as modern frameworks and tools.

Freek has a deep appreciation for agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and has served as both a Scrum Master and an IT Architect. His career highlights include leading development teams, implementing business intelligence solutions in the healthcare sector, and ensuring seamless transitions after company acquisitions. Notably, Freek co-founded Magistro, a company focused on building innovative BI solutions for primary care, where he served as CTO and lead developer for nearly two decades.

Currently, Freek channels his extensive industry knowledge into freelance IT training, delivering courses on topics like Python, Java, Rust, and database management systems. His approach to teaching is rooted in practical experience, making him a sought-after educator for organizations looking to enhance their technical capabilities.

Outside of work, Freek enjoys 3D printing and long-distance hiking. His enthusiasm for continuous learning and innovation makes him a valuable asset in the ever-evolving field of technology.
