The use of software/applications is becoming increasingly important to businesses. When software is not effective because it does not do what the user expects (effectiveness); when software takes too many steps or produces results too slowly (efficiency); when the customer gets the expected result but is not satisfied with the software (satisfaction), we are speaking of usability problems. As the use of software plays an increasingly important role, usability is rightly receiving more and more attention. Usability Testing is an important aspect of thinking about and determining the usability of a software application. This two-day ISTQB® Certified Tester – Usability Testing training course will teach you the fundamentals of usability testing, looking at:

• Usability as the direct interaction between the user and the system
• User experience (UX), which includes the perceived service before and after using the system
• Accessibility, focused on the use of the system by users with (for example, visual or hearing) impairments

The training also addresses such topics as:

• The context in which usability testing should be placed (human-centered design)
• Using the usability evaluation techniques “usability reviews,” “usability testing” and “user surveys”.
• The choice of techniques

Prior Knowledge

ISTQB® Foundation certification.

Exam

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a voucher with which they may choose to take the exam online or physically. For groups of at least five, a classroom exam can also be held. This exam is in English and takes the form of a multiple choice exam.

Prerequisite for certification is that the participant has the ISTQB® Foundation certificate. If the participant does not already hold that certification, the exam can still be taken, but the participant will not yet receive the “ISTQB® Certified Tester Usability Testing” certificate.
