The ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer certification is aimed at people who have extensive experience in the field of testing. Polteq offers four different courses aimed at earning one of the four ISTQB® Advanced certifications:

1. ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Manager (CTAL-TM) (3 days)
2. ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Analyst (CTAL-TA) (3 days)
3. ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst (CTAL-TTA) (3 days)
4. ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test automation engineer (CTAL-TAE) ( 3 days)

Passing all these certifications leads to the Full Advanced Level Testing Professional certificate.

The content of this three-day training is listed below in module form.

Learning objectives of the training:

• Contribute to the development of a plan to integrate automated testing into the testing process
• Assess which test automation tools best suit the project and organization
• Approach building an architecture for test automation and know what methodology they are using to do so
• Design and develop new (or modified) test automation solutions that meet business requirements
• Facilitate the transition from manual testing to an automated approach
• Create automated test reports and collect statistics
• Manage and optimize test code to facilitate maintainability and manage (test) systems in a changing world

Prior Knowledge

ISTQB® Foundation certification and sufficient practical experience with test automation.

Exam

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a voucher that they can use to take the exam online or physically at their choice. For groups of at least five participants, a classroom exam can also be held.

Prerequisite for certification is that the participant has the ISTQB® Foundation certificate. If the participant does not already hold that certification, the exam can still be taken, but the participant will not yet receive the ‘ISTQB® Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer’ certificate.
